The Celebrity Traitors star Sharon Rooney will join MobLand's Emmett J. Scanlan in An Impossible Way To Die.

The broadcaster has commissioned the new six-part thriller which sees detective Katie Salter's local policing life turned upside down when she ends up in thrust into a mysterious murder investigation.
Sebastian Cardwell, Deputy Chief Content Officer for 5, said: “An Impossible Way to Die is exactly the kind of distinctive, compelling drama we want to bring to 5 audiences.
"Casting Sharon Rooney as a detective was the genesis of this thriller, and she brings something fresh and compelling to DS Katie Salter.
"With its brilliant premise, bold take on the detective genre, fantastic cast and Clapperboard’s flair for character-driven drama, we’re hugely excited to see the series come to life.”
DS Salter is happy with her life solving everyday crimes until she gets caught up in a murder investigation which seems impossible to solve.
Four people are sat around a table set for a dinner party, but they are all dead, and the only clue appears to be a scorpion crawling out of one of their mouths.
Salter, who is smart and committed to her family, gets paired up with lead investigator Niall Conway, played by MobLand actor Emmett J. Scanlan.
She's more measured in her approach, whereas he has an all-consuming dedication to the job, making them seem totally incompatible.
As the investigation moves on, he sees the benefit of her focus on empathy and optimism, even as things take a dark and tense turn.

Meanwhile, Sharon will be seen on the BBC later this year as part of the second series of The Celebrity Traitors.
She has been confirmed as part of an all-star lineup including Bella Ramsay, James Blunt, Jerry Hall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Michael Sheen, Richard E. Grant and more.
