Chelsee Healey 'quitting Hollyoaks'
It has been reported that Chelsee Healey is departing Hollyoaks after almost 10 years.
Chelsee Healey is reportedly quitting Hollyoaks.
The 37-year-old actress - who has played the fiery Goldie McQueen on the Channel 4 soap since 2016 - wants to focus on other projects.
A source claimed to The Sun: "Chelsee has decided it’s time to move on from Hollyoaks for good. She hasn’t had a full-time contract on the show for some time now.
"She’s been doing other stuff on the side for a while – like Waterloo Road – but she’s taking the leap fully now. It’s a new start for this year."
Chelsee - who temporarily left Hollyoaks to give birth to her daughters Coco and Cookie, in 2017 and 2023, respectively - is also set to reprise her role as gobby Janeece Bryan in the BBC school drama Waterloo Road later this year.
Speaking of the star - who played pupil Janeece from 2006 until 2012 - an insider told The Sun: "Chelsee was a huge part of Waterloo Road back in the day, that’s why they brought her back when it was first rebooted.
"The fans loved seeing Janeece again, and she loved stepping back into her shoes.
"At the end of the last series, bosses came up with a storyline that would see her return and approached Chelsee about her availability.
"Luckily, her bosses at Hollyoaks gave it the green light, and she’ll be back filming in the coming weeks.
"Everyone is really excited."
In 2024, Chelsee - who briefly returned to Waterloo Road in 2023 for the revival following the death of Janeece's pal, Chlo Charles - said she would love to do the programme again.
The star - who was the first celebrity to be eliminated from ITV's Dancing on Ice in 2025 - exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I mean, if that opportunity there was to ever arise again, I'd be so grateful to go back at some point. But yeah, I think that'd be fantastic.
"Think everyone needs to see Janeece again. I think she should come back as a teacher. A PE teacher. Or an ice-skating teacher, yeah!"
Chelsee described Janeece as one of her "favourite" roles that she has played in her acting career.
She said: "Janeece was probably one of my favourite characters that I've ever played. Yeah, she was amazing.
"I tell you something, I didn't really have to act. I was very much like my character, Janeece, back then. I was naughty!"
