Jake Quickenden dealing with life's 'ups and downs' following split from wife
Jake Quickenden and Sophie Church split a "few months" ago after nearly four years of marriage.
Jake Quickenden has been navigating life's "ups and downs" following his split from his wife Sophie Church.
The 37-year-old singer has spent "lots of time" with their sons, Leo, five, and 16-month-old Kit, and his stepson Freddie, 12, whom the 33-year-old influencer has from a previous relationship, after the pair - who remain on good terms - separated a "few months" ago after nearly four years of marriage.
Hunk Jake took to Instagram on Sunday (28.06.26) and posted a series of pictures of himself, as well as with the children, and the caption read: "It’s been a hot week… full of ups and downs. It will all be ok in the end, and if it’s not ok it’s not the end. !!
"Spent lots of time with the boys this week and it’s been super fun, exhausting but fun. Have a great Sunday. (sic)"
The X Factor 2012 contestant's fans flooded the post's comments section with supportive messages, as one penned: "Jake you keep putting them smiles on your boys faces and loving them as you do x x your an amazing dad and son love your posts and that you share with us thank you x x (sic)."
Jake replied: "Trying to."
A second supporter typed: "Jake you will feel content and happy and settled but the road will be bumpy. It’s a different journey for us all but there will be an end, your happy ending. But for now one day at a time.
"No matter how amicable an end of a relationship is it’s a grieving process. Guilt too as it affects 3 little people too. But you are doing just great.
"Co parenting for the boys is so important. Sending love and a virtual hug, and [reassurance] you will be ok x (sic)."
And a third follower wrote: "Jake you are a beautiful soul. Your dad and brother are up there proud as punch watching be a wonderful dad to your boys!!!!
"You will do them proud as you do each and every day being there for them making them feel loved and making the best memories x x x x know your worth because you’re amazing!!!! X x x (sic)."
Earlier this month, Jake announced on Instagram that he and Sophie - who wed in Ibiza, Spain, in September 2022 - split because they "grew apart" and their marriage became "hard to function".
The I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! 2014 campmate posted a joyous family shot, including Sophie's son Freddie, with the caption: "Thought maybe I should tell you what’s going on right now.
"Me and Sophie have unfortunately separated. It’s been a few months now, tried to keep it private for us to come to terms with it and navigate it properly, while it also involves our beautiful children.
"But sometimes things are taken out of our hands, I guess it’s kinda hypocritical from my side, sharing my life on social media but then wanting privacy in a super hard moment. But we did just want to deal with it together. (sic)"
Jake continued: "Firstly Sophie is an amazing person and mother and we shared some very special moments together that I will always cherish.
"We have beautiful children together and they will always come first. I have respect and love for her and I want her to succeed in everything she does. I will always have her back.
"Unfortunately as a couple we just grew apart and it became hard to function together. I hope we both find our happiness, I know we both deserve that.
"Many times in breakups people expect a huge reason, this isn’t like that it’s two people growing apart and realising that happiness rests its head somewhere else. (sic)"
The Dancing on Ice 2018 winner and Sophie are now focused on co-parenting.
Jake concluded: "For now I’m going to be concentrating on the boys, co-parenting in a healthy loving way which I know we will 100 per cent be able to do because we are already doing that.
"When the dust settles we will be popping round to each others for a brew to chat about the kids and like I said I want nothing but the best for Sophie.
"Been a tough few months please be kind to both parties and also didn’t even wanna do a cringe post like this but for certain reasons had to. (sic)"
