The quizzer - who is nicknamed The Governess - has learned to be careful about the people she befriends after a situation escalated out of control back in 2012, when the show started growing in popularity.
She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “There was a woman who I was being friendly with and got her wires crossed and the next thing I knew she packed up her home in London and moved to Manchester to live three streets away.
“I gradually fended her off and she got the message. I don’t want to hurt her feelings, but I have to be careful with people who I befriend.
"Nobody knew who we were at first, I was trying to be nice. But people can overstep, especially if you’re not used to having to set boundaries.
“It was similar to Baby Reindeer, but not as bad."
Astonishingly, the 67-year-old star is still connected to the woman.
She admitted: "I am still Facebook friends with the woman.”
Meanwhile, after ITV paused filming on The Chase for a year, Anne admitted she and her fellow Chasers would suffer financially because they are paid per appearance.
She said: “I won’t make money from the daytime Chase for a year.
“But the thing is I’ve got money in the bank and I’m doing panto again so I’ll be fine.”
The former I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! contestant previously admitted she hopes ITV don't decide to bring in another Chaser to complete alongside her, Mark 'The Beast' Labbett, Shaun 'The Dark Destroyer' Wallace, Paul 'The Sinnerman' Sinha, Darragh 'The Menace' Ennis, and Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan, because they would all see an impact on their wages.
She said last year: “We’re not on a salary. It’s not as if they’re going to up the budget and add a new salary.
“A new chaser would just mean the same number of shows shared between more people — so less money for everyone.”
