Katie Piper stuns Loose Women panel with naked sunbathing admission
The television presenter sparked disbelief among her fellow panellists after revealing her preferred way to enjoy Britain's summer heatwave from the privacy of her own garden.
Katie Piper left her fellow Loose Women panellists stunned after revealing she enjoys sunbathing naked in her garden during Britain’s latest heatwave.
The 42-year-old broadcaster, author and campaigner made the admission during Wednesday's (24.06.26) edition of the ITV1 daytime programme while discussing the soaring temperatures across the UK.
Katie, best known for her work raising awareness of burn survivors' issues following a life-changing acid attack in 2008 and who recently appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, told viewers she was eager to make the most of the sunshine as soon as the programme ended.
Discussing the warm weather, Katie said: “Can I just say though, when it’s weather like this, I’m happier.
“I wake up in bright daylight, it’s easier, you pull back the curtains.
“I can’t wait for this show to finish, I’m gonna get home, get all my clothes off and get in the back garden.”
The confession immediately drew a shocked response from fellow panellist Coleen Nolan, who asked: “Naked?”
Katie replied: “Yes, absolutely!”
Coleen appeared stunned as she turned towards Christine Lampard, who asked: “You just completely strip off?”
Katie explained: “I wear a sun hat because I want to protect my face.”
Christine laughed and responded: “Well that’s important,” before fellow panellist Jane Moore pointed out drones could potentially be flying over Katie's garden.
Christine then said: “I’m guessing you don’t have lots of neighbours around you that are towering over you.”
Katie replied: “I think in your own garden, you can lay on your cushions or your sun lounger or on the grass.”
Coleen, who recently appeared on Celebs Go Dating and remains widely known for her long television career with Loose Women and as a member of pop group The Nolans, pulled a face and joked: “In this heat you’ll get your bits burnt and everything. It’s not worth it Katie.”
Christine added: “If you’re gonna do it, now is the time of year, let’s face it.”
She then turned the conversation towards holiday habits, asking Coleen: “Do you ever go topless on holiday?” before laughing.
An unimpressed Coleen responded: “Why’s that funny?”
Katie reflected on changing attitudes towards sunbathing, saying: “In the ’80s and the ’90s, everyone went topless on the beach, on European holidays.”
Coleen then recalled her own experience while holidaying abroad.
She said: “I went topless once, late ’80s, maybe early-’90s because everyone was doing it.
“So I thought, ‘Okay, I’m lying down, what can go wrong?”
Jane interrupted with: “Where are you? Blackpool?”
Coleen continued: “It was in Turkey actually.
“I was lying down and all of a sudden there was this shadow over me and a couple came over and went, ‘hello, how are you?’.
“And I’m going, ‘I’m topless’, and I gradually went, ‘I’m fine thanks’, and kind of rolled onto my stomach and put my top back on and I’ve never done it since.”
The discussion came as Britain continues to experience high summer temperatures, prompting health warnings from officials over sun exposure and heat-related illness.
Katie, who has built a successful television career through documentaries, campaigning work and regular appearances on Loose Women, has frequently spoken about body confidence, recovery and self-acceptance in recent years, themes which have become central to her public work alongside her broadcasting career.
