Lucy Beaumont won her family a hotel stay in London and appeared on The Big Breakfast after winning a competition - but she cheated.

The comic was 10 when she entered and won a competition to design a fountain that was installed in the back garden of the house where the Channel 4 show was shot, but it was her mum, artist Gill Adams, who came up with and produced the design.

Lucy, 42, reunited with Gaby Roslin, 61, who hosted The Big Breakfast at the time, on the latter's Magic Radio Saturday Mornings show on May 30, and stunned the broadcaster with her revelation.

Lucy said: "Do you remember that fountain that they had? Do you remember it was a kids' competition to design the fountain? My mum went to art school. She did it and pretended it was me.

"And we came on the show, and it was awful. Two weeks before, she said, 'We've won a competition, you're to keep your mouth shut because we're gonna get a hotel in London.'

"So they unveiled it, they had an unveiling. They had a kids' choir singing. They made a really big thing [out of it]. And I was like, 'I've got to tell everyone it was me.'"

Gill could no longer keep the secret and came clean.

Lucy continued: "And right at the last minute, my mum said, 'I did give her a little bit of help.'"

The Celebrity Traitors 2025 star reminded Gaby of a touching moment the pair had on The Big Breakfast, which left a long-lasting impression.

Lucy remembered: "You came to the green room, nobody else did, but you came to meet me. You were so lovely with me. I've never forgotten it.

"And we've always said, like for years, if we've ever seen you on anything, we always say, 'She is so [lovely].' Like we knew how lovely you were."
