Love Island Shakira Khan addresses engagement rumours
Love Island's Shakira Khan and Harry Cooksley sparked engagement rumours after they shared a photo, which could have easily been done for a proposal announcement, from their recent holiday in Marrakech, Morocco.
Love Island's Shakira Khan has shut down rumours that she and Harry Cooksley are engaged.
The couple's fans believed the footballer proposed after they saw a shot of him lifting the model as they smiled and looked into each other's eyes against a sunset, in their Marrakech, Morocco, getaway Instagram photo dump, posted on Monday (25.06.26).
But two days later, the excitement turned into disappointment as Shakira, 23, told her and 31-year-old Harry's supporters that they were not engaged.
In an Instagram Stories Q+A, the brunette beauty said: "Upon reflection, I can understand why you all got a little bit confused.
“The thing that cracked me up, I don’t blame you lot, what I do blame is Yasmin, my best friend in the whole entire world, didn’t think that I would tell her that I got engaged before I told the internet.
"One dumba** h***."
Shakira tagged Yasmin in the story and penned: "I just read her texts and move on with my life."
Yasmin joined fans in thinking that Harry popped the question after they saw the adorable picture.
One follower commented under the joyous holiday shots: "PLS I THOUGHT THIS WAS AN ENGAGEMENT POST (sic)."
A second supporter typed: "The first pic made me think it's a proposal post (sic)."
And a third fan wrote: "My heart was in shock, I thought this was an engagement post."
Other photos in the post included her and Harry exploring Marrakech, as well as the pair shopping in the outdoor markets.
Shakira captioned the upload: "Marrakech over and out."
In February, Harry and Shakira moved in together.
The couple took to Instagram and posted a video of themselves in their new property, as well as shots of the sportsman lifting her up as they hugged in the kitchen.

She and Harry met on Love Island in 2025, and although they immediately bonded, they did not strike up a romance straight away.
The hunk was interested in Helena Ford, 30, but after they dated other islanders in the Mallorca, Spain-based villa, and a week before the final, Harry and Shakira told each other that they fancied each other.
They finished runners-up to Toni Laites and Cach Mercer, both 25.
