Johannes Radebe insists there is a "plan" for him to dance and host Strictly Come Dancing.

The 39-year-old star has reassured fans his dancing shoes will not be hung up following fears he would not perform again on the BBC show now that Johannes is transitioning from a pro to a co-presenter, with Emma Willis, 50, and Josh Widdicombe, 43, when the Latin and Ballroom dance programme returns in September.

Johannes told The Sun newspaper's TVBiz column: "The question I’m getting asked the most is, ‘Are you not going to dance any more?’

"Now listen, I’m not hanging up my dancing shoes yet. I will definitely be throwing some shapes and moving my hips – I can’t not, that’s my life. For it to be just taken away would be a travesty for me.

"There’s a plan in action, that’s all I’m going to say. You’re going to see JoJo!"

Strictly Come Dancing's ex-pro Vincent Simone was one of those who worried that Johannes would not be dancing anymore on the programme, following the BBC's announcement of the new presenter line-up on May 19.

Vincent, 47, told Paddy Power Games: "I was surprised about Johannes because audiences love him as a dancer.

"My first reaction was, 'Oh no, that means we won’t see him as a professional dancer anymore.' I really loved the way he treated his celebrities, his choreography and his dancing.

"He’s good at it, so I didn’t expect them to take him off the dance floor yet."

But the star - who quit as a pro on the programme in 2012 after six years - thinks it is "brilliant" to have Johannes as a co-host.

Vincent explained: "Johannes knows all the pros; he knows the environment, and he comes across as such a lovely person every year.

"His celebrities absolutely adore him, so I think it’s good to have a professional involved in presenting the show."

Johannes - who joined Strictly Come Dancing in 2018, and insisted he is "definitely not hanging up my dancing shoes as yet" - is thought to have come out on top with Emma and Josh following host auditions last month, which Zoe Ball, 55, Sara Cox, 51, and others were involved in.

And Johannes is thrilled with his new job on Strictly Come Dancing.

He said in a statement: "To be returning to Strictly Come Dancing in this new role is beyond anything I ever imagined. This show has always stood for joy, heart, and togetherness, and I feel deeply honoured to now help carry that magic forward.

"To do it alongside the formidable Emma Willis and the utterly brilliant Josh Widdicombe makes it even more special. I’m ready-sequins, nerves, and all...please bear with me. Love Jojo."

Emma, Josh and Johannes have replaced former hosts Tess Daly, 57, and Claudia Winkleman, 54, who quit at the end of the 2025 series in December,
