Virgin Island sex experts reveal key change they want to make for series 3
Channel 4 are yet to announced a third run of Virgin Island, but the show's experts already have big plans in mind.
Virgin Island experts want to feature see "gay men taking part in the show" for a third series.
The hit Channel 4 reality show, which sees virgins head to a tropical retreat to tackle their fears of intimacy, recently returned for a second series and while another run is yet to be announced, sex and relationship coach Dr. Danielle Harel is already thinking about how to develop the format.
She told the Spill With Will podcast: "We want brave virgin gay men to come to the island.
“Don’t hide, we have a safe place for you to come to."
Danielle admitted the team are hoping to be more inclusive in the potential third series.
She added: "I think one of the things you don’t see on Virgin Island yet — and we hope to see on season three — is gay men taking part in the show.
“We have a gay therapist waiting. We have all the therapists everyone needs to get help, both surrogates and body workers who are prepared to do that.
"That's easy."
Her co-star, sexologist Celeste Hirschman, revealed that the Virgin Island experts did think they would be working with a gay person.
She said: "We thought we had a gay participant but it didn’t work out in the end. We want to bring everyone out to the island."
The first series was one of Channel 4's biggest streaming hits of last year, and in its first 28 days, episode one became the broadcaster's most-watched show for 16-34s in 2025 - outperforming BBC's Race Across the World and Doctor Who.
It was a no-brainer for C4 to bring back the BAFTA-nominated show for a "bigger and bolder than ever" second series.
Speaking before the recent episodes aired, Jonah Weston, Virgin Island Commissioning Editor, said: “It's been such a thrill to watch this show catch fire.
"This is a live issue among young people, and from the brave cast to our wonderful experts, I don't think I've ever worked on anything quite so bold, warm and well-intentioned."
Rob Davis, Executive Producer, added: "We’re absolutely delighted with the success of Virgin Island. It's bold and fresh approach clearly struck a chord with the younger generation."
