Sarah Jayne Dunn ecstatic to be rumoured for the Strictly Come Dancing 2026
Good Morning Britain named Sarah Jayne Dunn, Delta Goodrem, and Josie Gibson as rumoured stars to be doing Strictly Come Dancing 2026.
Sarah Jayne Dunn is thrilled to be rumoured for the Strictly Come Dancing 2026 line-up.
The ex-Hollyoaks star was full of excitement when her face popped up as a "rumoured contestant" alongside Neighbours alum Delta Goodrem and This Morning's Josie Gibson, both 41, on Good Morning Britain on Monday (25.05.26).
In a video posted to Instagram that day, Sarah, 44, said: "My friend messaged me this morning, and she was like, 'Look what I've just seen. I'm about to watch it, is it actually working?'"
The actress turned around to watch the ITV breakfast news programme as presenter Ranvir Singh, 48, guest host Tom Swarbrick, 39, and entertainment correspondent Rishi Davda discussed the rumoured names for Strictly Come Dancing 2026.
After the trio said that fans now know that Emma Willis, 50, Josh Widdicombe, 43, and Johannes Radebe, 39, have replaced Tess Daly, 57, and Claudia Winkleman, 54, as hosts, after months of speculation, Rishi noted that the celebrity dancers remain a mystery.
He added: "Or do we? It’s time for a rumba with the rumours. Another celeb name has entered the Strictly frame, the suspected line-up is growing fast with former soap star Sarah Jayne Dunn, Delta Goodrem and Josie Gibson."
As Sarah's face appeared on the screen, the entertainer turned back to the camera, put her hands on her face, and said: "Oh my God!"
Sarah - who played Mandy Richardson in Hollyoaks from 1996 until 2021, when she was dropped after joining OnlyFans - used the post's caption to share how much she would love to star in the upcoming Strictly Come Dancing, which stars in September.
The blonde beauty penned: "Manifesting Strictly Week 15!!
"There’s something really vulnerable about saying out loud that you want something this much.
"Especially something that feels as big and iconic and out of reach as @bbcstrictly has always felt to me.
"But this whole series has really been about stopping myself from quietly ruling myself out of the things I dream about before anyone else gets the chance to.
"I’ve wanted this for such a long time, genuinely. Not as a joke, not just for content… but because I know I would absolutely love every second of it. The challenge, the dancing, the nerves, the glamour, all of it.
"So hearing my name mentioned on @gmb this morning honestly felt a little bit magical.
"Manifesting Strictly 2026 continues (sic)."
Sarah launched an online campaign where each week she expresses her wish to be on the BBC Latin and Ballroom dance show.
Her video came the same day it was reported that Love Island alum Dani Dyer, 29, is poised to return to Strictly Come Dancing after she was forced to withdraw from the 2025 series due to a fractured ankle.
