A one-off kids' special of The 1 Percent Club airs this month.

Viewers have to wait until May 24 to find out which of 100 participants aged from nine to 15 can correctly answer a logic-based question that only one per cent of the country can get right on the ITV quiz show.

The winner will not receive the usual jackpot, worth up to £100,000, but a family trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Last year, ITV said in its casting call for The 1 Percent Club Kids' Special: "This show is all about how your brain works rather than what you learn at school. We have had four series of the over-18s 1 Percent Club, and now it's the kids' turn.

"We are looking for children aged 9 to 15 from the UK. We encourage people from all ethnic backgrounds and those who are disabled to apply as we want to show a true representation of the UK."

The air date for the kids' special comes days after the broadcaster confirmed that The 1 Percent Club has been renewed for another three years.

Host Lee Mack, 57, said: "I'm delighted that ITV have given us three more series to discover Great British clever clogs.

"I just told my family how old I would be when these three series are over, but apparently, I got it wrong. Which shows you how well I'd do as a contestant."

The 1 Percent Club launched in 2022 and has reached over 43 million viewers in that time.

ITV has commissioned a new spinoff format, The 1 Percent Club Rollover, which will be included in the three-year renewal.

The spinoff follows the main show's format, but if the prize is not won, it rolls over to the following show, meaning there could be a £500,000 prize on the final night.

In an added twist, contestants who reach the 1 percent question will appear in the next episode.

Sue Murphy, ITV’s Director of Factual Entertainment, said: "We’re thrilled to be renewing The 1 Percent Club for a further three years. The show has become a huge hit with viewers of all ages.

"With Lee at the helm as always, we can’t wait to bring more series and specials to the viewers.

"It’s a brilliant entertainment show with a unique format that viewers love to play along with at home, and its broad appeal makes it a hugely valuable part of our slate on ITV."

The 1 Percent Club Kids' Special airs on May 24 at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
