ITV confirms future of Lee Mack's beloved game show
Lee Mack has fronted The 1 Percent Club since 2022.
The 1 Percent Club has been renewed for another three years.
ITV has confirmed the future of the award winning game show, confirming more specials for the hit series, which will continue to be hosted by Not Going Out star Lee Mack.
In a statement, the comedian said: "I'm delighted that ITV have given us three more series to discover Great British clever clogs.
"I just told my family how old I would be when these three series are over, but apparently I got it wrong. Which shows you how well I'd do as a contestant."
The show has 100 contestants all attempting to answer tough questions which increase in difficulty.
At the end of each episode, they're faced with a final question that only 1 percent of the public should be able to answer correctly.
The 1 Percent Club launched in 2022, and has reached over 43 million viewers in that time.
As well as the main show, ITV has also commissioned new spinoff format The 1 Percent Club Rollover will be included in the three-year renewal.
The spinoff followed the main show's format, but if a prize wasn't won, it would be rolled over to the next day's show, meaning there could be a £500,000 prize on the final night.
In an added twist, anyone making it to the 1 percent question would automatically be brought back for the next day.
There is also The 1 Percent Club Kids Special, which is set to air later this month.
ITV’s Director of Factual Entertainment, Sue Murphy, said: "We’re thrilled to be renewing The 1% Club for a further three years. The show has become a huge hit with viewers of all ages.
"With Lee at the helm as always, we can’t wait to bring more series and specials to the viewers.
"It’s a brilliant entertainment show with a unique format that viewers love to play along with at home, and its broad appeal makes it a hugely valuable part of our slate on ITV."
Executive Producers and creators of The 1 Percent Club, Dean Nabarro and Andy Auerbach are grateful for the "vote of confidence" from ITV.
They commented: "It’s a wonderful vote of confidence that ITV have commissioned three more years of the show and we’re delighted that so many more people will now get the chance to join The 1 Percent Club."
