Netflix gives major Wednesday season 3 update as Jenna Ortega returns
Jenna Ortega has been busy working on the third season of Wednesday.
Jenna Ortega has officially wrapped filming for Wednesday season three.
The 24-year-old actress stars as Wednesday Addams in Netflix's hit Addams Family spinoff series, and the streaming giant has given a major update for the upcoming season.
Netflix appropriately confirmed on Wednesday (09.30.26) that "production has wrapped" for the new episodes, which were shot in Dublin, with production shots also showing Jenna in character in Paris.
The show's co-creator and showrunner Alfred Gough told Netflix's Tudum: "Our goal for Season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can.
“We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday.”
Gough's co-creator and showrunner Miles Millar also promised viewers "will be seeing more Addams family members and learning more family secrets" in the new season.
The likes of Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy and James Lance have been announced as joining the cast alongside the likes of Winona Ryder, Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan and Kennedy Moyer.
Meanwhile, Netflix previously confirmed Eva Green, who has collaborated with Tim Burton for a long time, will play Morticia Addams' (Catherine Zeta-Jones) enigmatic and "missing" sister Aunt Ophelia.
However, Gough and Millar are keeping tight lipped on any further plot details or a potential release date for the third season.
Asked if anything else can be released, Millar teased: "Sure, but then I’d have to bury you in a shallow grave.”
Wednesday is Netflix's most popular English language series, and each episode is estimated to cost around $15 million to create.
A source previously said: “Wednesday is a huge priority for Netflix.
“But since it became such a streaming success, the producers have gone to extraordinary lengths to keep the production secret.
“The budget for the show is enormous. No expense has been spared in securing huge name actors.”
Series star Jenna recently opened up about how much she shares in common with her dark and brooding character.
She told Esquire magazine: "We mesh pretty well. But while I’m in production, going over scripts over and over again, and I’m there all day, every day, and in every scene...
"Yeah, there’s times where I think like her Maybe she peeks out a bit more, here and there.”
