I'm A Celebrity star David Haye 'intends to sue ITV', but why?
David Haye reportedly plans to launch legal action against ITV.
David Haye reportedly intends to sue ITV for causing "irreparable damage to his brand".
The 45-year-old former boxer has reportedly instructed lawyers to send a letter to ITV, amid the fallout from his controversial stint on I'm A Celebrity... South Africa.
A TV source told The Sun newspaper: "David is absolutely gung-ho about all of this — he is incandescent with rage about how the whole series has been handled and feels he’s being made a scapegoat by ITV.
"He believes he was deliberately edited to be the pantomime villain and made to look misogynistic, aggressive and a bully.
"He insists he is none of these and has suffered trolling.
"He can cite examples — such as the Gemma Collins ‘fat-shaming’ moment, which used clever editing and snide eye-rolls, etc to make his remark look damning."
David - a former world heavyweight champion boxer - reportedly believes that the show has caused damage to his reputation and undermined his future earning potential.
The insider shared: "His lawyers will go through the series with a fine-toothed comb to find more.
"He is going for damages as a result of the ‘propaganda’ aired against him to recover lost earnings, which lawyers believe could total up to £10 million.
"David previously had talks with Netflix about a show, and these have halted, while other brand deals appear to have been paused."
David was accused of bullying eventual winner Adam Thomas during his time on the show.
Despite this, Adam recently insisted that he's proud of how he handled himself on I'm A Celebrity.
Adam - who also clashed with footballer Jimmy Bullard - wrote on Instagram: "I walked through this journey with my heart first, no matter what came my way…It was not always easy, there were moments that could have broken me, but I stayed true to myself and that is something I will always be proud of.
"I have realised that when people try to dim your light, it says more about them than it ever will about you.
"This experience has shown me my strength in ways I never imagined. Not because of any title or recognition, but because I stayed kind, I stayed grounded and I stayed real."
