Coronation Street's Tina O'Brien eyes more Botox to tackle ageing
Coronation Street's Tina O'Brien is thinking about having more Botox to smooth out wrinkles that have reappeared.
Coronation Street legend Tina O'Brien is considering having more Botox to stay youthful.
The Sarah Platt actress' wrinkles are starting to reappear, and she is keen to smooth them out with the cosmetic procedure.
Tina, 42, told the new issue of Closer magazine: "My skincare routine is so simple it's embarrassing. I need to improve it because I can see changes in my skin as I'm getting older.
"As it stands, I use Simple face wipes to take off my make-up and Nivea Soft moisturiser at night - and that's it. I sometimes use a retinol cream around my eyes, but, if I'm honest, I don't really know what to use.
"I have had Botox in the past, but I haven't had it for about a year, so I would consider it again now."
She added: "There is a part of me that wants to age gracefully, but then I see wrinkles and think, 'Is it time to try to stop that?'
"I'd be lying if I said I didn't care about looking older, but at the same time, if ageing means that I get to live a long life, then absolutely I'll take it.
"I think it's about finding peace and loving the skin you're in."
However, Tina has been prone to fretting over her appearance on-screen.
The Waterloo Road alum admitted: "I can sometimes go, 'Flippin' heck, you're not looking too bad.' And sometimes I think, 'Gosh, you look a state!'
"I try not to be too hard on myself."
Tina previously panicked over getting older, but was soon put at ease after fans bombarded her with compliments over the star's youthful appearance.
She recalled: "When I turned 40, I had a bit of an internal wobble that I was entering a different chapter of my life. But I think it's incredibly flattering when people say I look young for my age.
"When I was younger, I used to get asked for ID a lot, and I hated how young I looked for my age. But maybe now I'm older, it's turned back around and is finally in my favour!"
But perimenopause is a slight worry for Tina - who has Scarlett, 17, from her romance with Coronation Street's Ryan Thomas, 41, and son, Beau, 11, with her 40-year-old ex-husband, personal trainer Adam Crofts.
She said: "It's coming! I thankfully feel healthy in my body at the moment, and I feel that I'm at a stage in my life where I finally understand my cycle, so the idea of my body going through changes is something I'm nervous about."
However, Tina is relaxed knowing there is "so much more information and discussion about it now, including open conversations about Hormone Replacement Therapy".
She added: "Whereas before, women were just expected to get on with it. My daughter is 17, and I hope that when she reaches that age, it's just as easy to access as other forms of healthcare."
