New series of The Traitors is coming to the BBC this month
The Traitors franchise continues to expand.
The Traitors India is coming to the BBC later this month.
The Hindi version of the hit reality TV format, which comes from All3Media International, had aired on Amazon Prime Video and is now coming to BBC Three and iPlayer.
Maartje Horchner, EVP of content at All3Media International, said: “Packed with all The Traitors’ trademark drama, intrigue and deception, Prime Video’s version has been an incredible success in India.”
A second series is in the works for Prime, while viewers on the Beeb will get to watch the first run, which was hosted by Karan Johar, from April 30.
The first episode of the game show sees 20 people entering a grand palace in Suryagarh, Rajasthan for the ultimate game of trust and betrayal looking to win a ten million rupee prize.
In the first mission of the series, the group - including the likes of Anshula Kapoor, Apoorva, Ashish Vidyarthi, Elnaaz Nourouzi and Harsh Gujral - have to solve riddles on a moving train in an attempt to avoid disaster.
Nightfall brings the game's first 'murder', as the Innocents head to bed wondering who will be picked off by the Traitors by the morning.
The following day, they're forced to think like their fellow players, while the Circle of Shaq replaces the roundtable as the group look to banish their first Traitor.
As well as the main UK series and its celebrity spinoff, fans on iPlayer can watch the US, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland editions of the global franchise.
In the UK, filming for the second series of The Celebrity Traitors is about to kick off, with the likes of James Acaster, Michael Sheen, Danny Dyer and Joanne McNally all linked to the show.
A previous report suggest bosses are "absolutely desperate" to land Adolescence creator and star Stephen Graham as a contestant.
A source told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: "They are absolutely desperate to nail down Stephen for the show. He would be their star signing. "He is one of the most formidable actors of our generation, and the nation adores him, but no one really knows what he's like as a person, so there is a definite hunger among viewers to see what he is like in a more reality-based setting."
A BBC spokesman said: “We aren’t commenting on speculation and details for The Celebrity Traitors series two will be announced in due course.”
