Scarlett Moffatt has announced she is expecting her second child.

Describing the pregnancy as a “miracle” after a period of fertility struggles, the 35-year-old former Gogglebox regular confirmed she and her partner Scott Dobinson are preparing to welcome another baby.

The couple, who already share a son, Jude, made the announcement on social media, with Scarlett currently appearing on ITV’s all-stars edition of I’m A Celebrity.

The news follows a period in which Scarlett has spoken publicly about miscarriage and the challenges she and Scott faced while trying to expand their family, including a previous decision to stop trying after experiencing loss.

Scarlett said in an Instagram post on Monday (20.04.26) evening: “We honestly can’t believe we’re writing this… after everything, we feel unbelievably lucky to be able to say… our family is growing.”

She added: “One little miracle gave us Jude, and now he’s going to be a big brother.”

Scarlett went on: “And if there’s one thing we know for certain, it’s that he is going to be the most amazing big brother.” She added: “We are so grateful, so excited, and still a little bit in shock… our hearts are fuller than we ever thought possible.”

During her appearance on I’m A Celebrity, Scarlett spoke about her and Scott’s earlier difficulties when it came to trying for a baby.

She said: “We tried for a long time and had some losses, and it’s not nice, is it.”

Scarlett added: “And because no one talks about it, you think something is wrong with you.”

She also said: “After Jude was born, we tried again and got quite far on and miscarried.”

Scarlett added: “I remembered Scott’s mum and dad took Jude for the day, and me and Scott just laid in bed crying. It was awful.”

She also described the emotional impact of that experience.

Scarlett said: “Because in our head, we were like, ‘Oh, like, imagine them running downstairs at Christmas together’.”

She added: “When you lose a baby in that way, you’re sort of mourning a life that you imagined. It’s just really sad.”

And Scarlett said: “When all you want is a family. It’s really hard when that doesn’t just come naturally and easily.”

She added: “You know, you question yourself. You question, why is it not happening? Is it ever going to happen?”

She also spoke about a previous decision to stop trying for another child.

Scarlett said: “We’ve got Jude, so let’s enjoy him.”

She added: “I just think it’s so brave when people then continue the journey because it is soul-destroying.”
