Danny Miller signs up for Celebrity Apprentice
Danny Miller has reportedly become the first name to have signed up for Celebrity Apprentice.
Danny Miller has signed up for Celebrity Apprentice.
The 35-year-old actor - who is best known for his portrayal of Aaron Dingle in Emmerdale - is set to take part in the business challenge show under the watchful eye of Lord Alan Sugar, and will be hoping to fare as well as he did when he won I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! when it took place at Gwrych Castle in North Wales during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Danny stands a good chance of doing well because he won the 2021 series of I’m A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here!
“Whenever he gets the chance to show off his endearing personality, he wins over viewers — particularly as it’s a surprising departure from his slightly grouchy character in Emmerdale.”
Meanwhile, Danny recently spoke emotionally of how much he misses his father Vince, who has dementia.
He said on Good Morning Britain last month: “It’s sad, and, you know, me and my dad were thick as thieves at one point, and, you know, losing him over and over again is awful.
“I live a couple of hours drive from my dad now, which breaks my heart, but I have my own family.
“I've got a job up in Yorkshire, on Emmerdale, and being around in Manchester isn't easy anymore, so I moved my family up there, and it was kind of a really tough thing to do, because I'm not there for my dad as much as I'd like to be. I miss him terribly."
Danny has learned to connect with his dad through his old favourite records.
He explained: “But you know, the days where I do see him again, I often get, you know, a good visit, and I usually find if I play Matt Monroe - my dad was a comedian, but he's a singer as well - and Matt Monroe was a friend of his.
“I played it one day, and he just kind of pointed at it, and he said, 10th of December, 1970, whatever, and I Googled it, and he was right. I think it was either his birthday or when the single was released, and from then on I kind of thought, I'm gonna do that, so I do it as a normal thing. Now I'll put it on the side and just play and just talk to him normally. I tend to get a better visit.“
Admitting he missed his dad "so much", he added: “He used to call me a lot and just ranted and then put the phone down without even saying, how are you? And I'd give anything back to have those conversations.”
Danny is thankful Vince still recognises him at the moment, despite his condition.
Asked if his dad is sometimes unaware of who he is, he said: “No, that will break my heart. I'm not there yet. We're not there yet, luckily, but it will break my heart.”
