Danny Miller: Corriedale is every soap fan's dream
Emmerdale actor Danny Miller has promised that the special Corriedale crossover episode on Monday (05.01.26) will be "dream" viewing for soap fans.
Danny Miller has teased that Corriedale will be "every soap fan's dream".
The stars of Coronation Street and Emmerdale will join forces for the crossover episode that airs on Monday (05.01.26) and the 35-year-old actor has teased that fans will be in for a treat as behind-the-scenes photos show bloodied stars in the aftermath of a multi-vehicle pile-up as they film night scenes.
Danny, who plays Aaron Dingle in Emmerdale, said: "The night shoots were a lot of fun and it's been great working with the Corrie team. I can't wait to see how the episode plays out with the separate storylines from both Emmerdale and Corrie. It's going to be epic and every soap fan's dream."
The buildup to Corriedale begins on Monday morning when half-hour episodes of both Emmerdale and Corrie will land on ITVX before being screened on ITV at 7pm and 7.30pm respectively.
The action-packed hour-long episode will air at 8pm on ITV and ITVX and is full of drama, secrets, lies, injuries and possible deaths. It will not be dropped earlier in the day on ITVX.
Once the show has aired, soap fans get exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the making of Corriedale with Corriedale Backstage Pass – including exclusive interviews, on ITVX, ITV3 and YouTube.
Hosted by Luis Elkes, the one-off special will provide audiences with the ultimate insider experience and captures the excitement of two soap worlds colliding.
The special crossover episode was filmed across three weeks back in October, including 12 nights of shooting on a disused road near Harrogate, Yorkshire.
Cast and crew members from both shows worked together for the first time to film the car crash – with tears and trauma turning to laughter as they shared hot cups of coffee and plenty of sweets.
Julia Goulding – who portrays Shona Platt in Coronation Street – said: "There was such a fantastic atmosphere on set. It was really special to be able to work with the Emmerdale cast and crew. It certainly helped with the night shoots to be able to work with new people.
"We kept the energy levels high with coffee and lots of sugary sweets!"
The special episode is a celebration of the soap genre and launches ITV's new 'soap power hour' schedule for Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
