Alison Hammond: 'I can’t host Strictly or star on Traitors'
Alison Hammond had been a hot favourite to co-host Strictly Come Dancing and appear on The Celebrity Traitors.
Alison Hammond has ruled out co-hosting Strictly Come Dancing and starring on The Celebrity Traitors.
The 51-year-old star was approached over being the new co-presenter of the BBC Latin and Ballroom dance competition, following the exit of Tess Daly, 57, and Claudia Winkleman, 54, in December 2025, as well as being tipped to appear on the latter's game of backstabbing, deceit and betrayal for the corporation.
However, Alison cannot do the two jobs due to scheduling conflicts with co-fronting ITV's This Morning, as well as Channel 4's The Great British Bake Off and Your Song.
Asked if she had been approached for Strictly Come Dancing, Alison revealed in the new issue of Radio Times magazine: "I have, actually. You didn’t expect that answer, did you? I can’t lie, I’m incapable."
But Alison said it is unlikely viewers will see her on the new series of the programme, which is expected to air in September.
She explained: "I’m so busy, babes, that I’m not sure it’s going to happen. It’s unrealistic. I’m so happy they considered me but, like Traitors, I can’t do it because everything clashes."
Alison wished she could be the new co-face of Strictly Come Dancing - in which she and her professional dance partner, Aljaz Skorjanec, 36, finished in 10th place on the 2014 series.
Alison admitted: "I would have loved to have done it - anybody that gets it, they’re going to land the perfect job. But I’m so happy with everything I’ve got. What would I drop, to do Strictly?"
The star thinks she would be great on The Celebrity Traitors - which sees the goodies try to sniff out the deceitfuls to stop the latter from 'murdering' innocent players and stealing the jackpot in the final.
Alison told the new issue of Best magazine: "I'd be amazing. I'd be a great Faithful, I'd be a great Traitor, I'd be good either way. And I'd embrace it."
And she would love 60-year-old Paul Hollywood, a judge on The Great British Bake Off, to do The Celebrity Traitors - which returns for a second series this year.
Alison added: "Paul would be a great Traitor because no one would believe him - with those blue eyes, are you joking?"
