Jack Fincham ‘wouldn’t be here anymore’ if it wasn't for his dog Elvis
In an update for fans on his Instagram, former Love Island winner Jack Fincham has admitted he “wouldn’t be here anymore” if it wasn't for his dog Elvis.
Jack Fincham “wouldn’t be here anymore” if it wasn't for his dog Elvis.
As he spoke about experiencing homelessness following a relapse into drink and drugs, Jack, 34, who rose to prominence after winning Love Island in 2018, said he is currently staying in a hotel with his dog while trying to rebuild his life after a period in rehab.
Earlier this year, he relapsed and had £20 to his name before undergoing two months of treatment costing £32,000 at Rainford Hall in Merseyside.
He has now shared an update with followers on Instagram, saying he is unsure what comes next and suggested there is little “much left” for him in England.
Jack has owned his Cane Corso dog, Elvis, since at least September 2022, when the animal was involved in a biting incident, with a further incident in June 2024 leading to a suspended sentence for Jack in 2025.
The reality TV star told his fans: “In case anyone is wondering where I am, I’m staying a hotel with the dog. I’m just gonna reset and work out what to do and where I wanna live.
“Got my beautiful dog Elvis, without him I probably wouldn’t even be here to be honest.”
He also spoke about the challenges of life after rehabilitation and his relationship with family members.
Jack went on: “One thing they told me in rehab and it’s true, you’re not gonna walk out of rehab to a red carpet rolled out for you because it’s stuff you should have been doing anyway.”
He added: “That level of kindness I wasn’t used to for a while, I found it quite alien.”
Jack also said he hopes to return to television and pursue acting work.
He added: “I’m gonna do my acting and get back into TV work, I’m gonna do all the things I said I was gonna do.”
Speaking previously about his relapse, Jack said: “Since then I have done drugs, I have done laughing gas.
“I have been so drunk that I’ve kissed a woman over Christmas and don’t even remember doing it. I’m embarrassed, mortified. I feel like an idiot.
“I am a 33-year-old man. I should be settled down, married. Instead I need help.”
Jack won Love Island alongside Dani Dyer, with the pair coupling up on the first day and later choosing to split the £50,000 prize before their relationship ended after leaving the villa.
