Lisa Riley was rushed to hospital for an operation after suffering a "very bad fall".
The Emmerdale actress - who plays Mandy Dingle in the ITV soap - endured "massive damage" to her left thumb after she toppled off a breakfast stool, but it has been "repaired" after she went under the knife at Leeds General Infirmary hospital.
She wrote on Instagram: "OUR NHS @nhsengland IS INCREDIBLE…….I have to massively thank my specialist surgeon Mr Daniel Thornton at LGI LEEDS hospital and all the beautiful team, every single one of you who treated me this afternoon-I had a very bad fall over the weekend (no I’m sober) no drunk jokes-it was my extremely slippy breakfast stool and a woollen cardi-my left thumb took all of it-so today hence the massive damage I have had my operation, surgery, treating my UCL in my Thumb repaired. (sic)"
Lisa also shared a picture of her arm in a sling, and she paid tribute to the NHS.
She added: "#NHS at it’s absolute best-bye for now I have some fantastic pain relief to take #surgery #leeds #hospital #thumb (sic)"
In November, I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star Lisa told how she would give her "left arm" to be a producer on Saturday night TV.
Speaking on the Celebrity Side Hustles podcast, she said: "One thing that I would give my left arm to do, and I would love to, is produce Saturday night television.
"That's my...not just yet! I would love to.
"Yeah, I would love to do, yeah, to be part of the production team and the ideas team."
Lisa also told how she previously produced Fat Friends: The Musical, which involved former Coronation Street star Kevin Kennedy, current Corrie star Jodie Prenger, X Factor winner Sam Bailey, and cricket legend Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff.
The star - who appeared in the original Fat Friends TV series in the 2000s - admitted the production was "really successful".
