I Kissed A Boy and Girl is reportedly returning as a spin-off visual podcast.

It has been claimed that Tinder has rescued the BBC Three LGBTQ+ dating shows after the corporation faced "funding challenges" to continue the Twofour-produced programme.

According to The Sun newspaper's TV Biz column, It Started With A Kiss - the supposed new title - will air on the romance app, as well as on YouTube and other social media platforms.

The reported visual podcast - which stars original narrator, 25-year-old Charley Marlowe - is believed to still shine light on LGBTQ+ love stories, with singletons sharing how they look in love, as well as takers recalling their past dates.

And it has also been claimed that celebrities will dish all on their dating tales.

A source told the publication: "Visual podcasts are huge now, and production values are so high it’s basically telly - look at The Traitors: Uncloaked, which got huge viewing figures on the BBC.

"The spin-off shows that there’s still life in I Kissed."

I Kissed A Boy first aired in 2023, with the format focusing on lesbian and bisexual women the following year, before it switched back to men in 2025.

I Kissed A Girl will return to BBC Three later this year before the two dating shows - hosted by singer Dannii Minogue - are scrapped by the corporation.

On Tuesday (10.03.26), a spokesperson told The Sun's TV Biz column: "We are exceptionally proud of I Kissed A Boy/Girl, the UK’s first dating show for the LGBTQ+ community.

"We would like to thank our fabulous cupid Dannii Minogue and the entire team at Twofour for bringing the series to screen.

"Unfortunately, we have to make difficult choices in light of our funding challenges and there are no current plans for the show to return."

Following the broadcaster's announcement, Dannii, 54, expressed how "super proud" she is of her work on the first same-sex dating series.

Promoting the final season of I Kissed A Girl, she said on Instagram: "Lots of love and amore to Twofour productions who've put together this TV show, this series, and to BBC who have put this groundbreaking television on TV, and I am so happy to be a part of it.

"This show makes me super proud, because it is a chance to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, and we've had so many incredible cast members share their love, their life and their stories as part of our show."

Dannii also teased the future of the I Kissed shows.

She added: "Season four featuring the girls is not far off, you will get to see it shortly, and who knows where the I Kissed series will go from there."

And the star reflected on her pride at being involved in "such a powerful and important show".

Dannii added: "Thank you Twofour Productions and BBC for allowing me to be a part of I Kissed A Boy and I Kissed A Girl series, it is such a powerful and important show.

"I’m so proud the show has given us the chance to celebrate so many people from the LGBTQ+ community, who made up our cast.

"I can’t wait for you to see the brand new series of I Kissed A Girl, bringing all the excitement and joy that this show represents.

"The integrity and intention of why it was created, along with the love and care from the crew and production over the four seasons, has made it the most special experience for me in almost 40 years of television."
