A source told The Sun newspaper: "ITV have decided to delay airing The Voice until autumn at the earliest.
"It means there will have been more than two years between the pre-recorded auditions and the live finals. People are now openly talking about The Voice being rested once its upcoming 14th series airs."
ITV insists that the TV talent show will return at some stage, but according to the insider, "it isn’t exactly a good look".
The source explained: "For now, ITV are insisting the long-awaited series will air, but it isn’t exactly a good look."

Kelly, 45 - who previously appeared as a judge on the UK version of The X Factor - said at the time: "I am excited to join The Voice UK as a coach, and am looking forward to working with the excellent and passionate coaches the show is known for.
"I can’t wait to hear all the new talent and to go to battle for my team. Let’s go!"
Sir Tom Jones also revealed that he was looking forward to working with Kelly.
The chart-topping singer - who first starred on The Voice back in 2012 - said: "It’s always a pleasure to return to The Voice UK as every year I’m reminded of the incredible talent we have in this country.
"I’m looking forward to sitting alongside will.i.am once again, having Tom and Danny in their chair for a second series, and of course I’m excited to welcome Kelly Rowland to the panel. She’s an amazing artist with a huge amount of experience to share."
