Ranvir Singh has grown closer to her Good Morning Britain colleagues as a result of the changes to the ITV show.

The breakfast programme relocated to Studio 1 at ITN in central London after eight years at Television Centre last month and the 48-year-old star has forged closer bonds with colleagues such as Susanna Reid and Charlotte Hawkins as they acclimatise to the changes – with GMB also having had its airtime extended by half-an-hour.

Ranvir told OK! magazine: "We're relying on each other a bit more than we used to, guiding each other through the changes.

"On air, it's not that different apart from a slightly smaller studio. Viewers are enjoying the fact that we look more cosy, and we are. We're all closer together."

Ranvir will turn 50 in August 2027 and revealed that she will be using the 18 months beforehand to make sure she is as healthy as possible.

The broadcaster – who has son Tushaan, 13, from her relationship with her former husband Ranjeet Singh Dehal – explained: "I'm looking more inward than outward for my 50th.

"As you hit your 50s, they call it 'sniper's alley', because people who are healthy and fit can get quite poorly in their 50s and pass away. A friend of mine got ovarian cancer in her 50s. Within 15 days of being diagnosed, she died. It was absolutely horrendous and I miss her every single day.

"That plays on your mind a lot. You can't dodge your destiny but a part of me thinks, I have to approach my fifties like a Ninja Warrior, especially with a child and being a single parent. I want to be around, be strong for him. That's my only goal for 50."

Ranvir hosts the ITV quiz show Riddiculous and says it is "like a dream" to present an entertainment programme after spending much of her career working in news.

She said: "It's like a dream. After 20-odd years of news, the sheer joy of the quiz world is addictive. You get to suspend reality, test your brain and think, 'I'm quite clever.'

"It's a dopamine hit. When I started presenting it, I felt like I'd gone on holiday. I feel very lucky."
