Jamie Oliver 'lined up for The Celebrity Traitors'
Jamie Oliver is reportedly in the running for a spot on The Celebrity Traitors later this year.
Jamie Oliver is reportedly being lined up for The Celebrity Traitors.
The 50-year-old celebrity chef is said to be high up on the BBC's dream list as they start to put together another star studded cast of famous faces for the second season of the cloak and dagger spinoff game show.
A source told The Sun newspaper's TVBiz column: "After the huge success of the debut series last year, execs really are shooting for the stars in terms of the calibre of people they’re targeting.
“Jamie would be a brilliant choice. He’s well liked by the public, with a natural charm that could bamboozle contestants."
Producers are said to be undecided which side of the game Jamie would be best suited for.
The insider added: “They wouldn’t be sure if he was a Faithful, or really a Traitor hiding behind his nice guy persona — much like the 2025 winner, Alan Carr.
"Either way, the production team are already joking about what Jamie might make of the catering supplied to the contestants at Ardross Castle.”
Following on from last year's celebrity winner Alan - who triumphed as a Traitor - his co-star and friend Amanda Holden is said to also be in the running, alongside former EastEnders actor Danny Dyer, and Gavin and Stacey star Ruth Jones.
The latest civilian version of the show was a massive success in its recent fourth season, as the finale on January 23 broke records with 9.4 million - peaking at 9.6 million - viewers tuning in.
They saw the Traitors - head of communications Rachel Duffy, 42, and cyber security consultant Stephen Libby, 32 - take home £47,875 each of the £95,750 prize pot.
Following the final, the BBC has announced the game show is being adapted into a West End event in 2027.
Although details of the stage adaptation are being kept under wraps, it has been written by Miranda star John Finnemore, 48, and directed by Olivier award winner Robert Hastie.
Stephen Lambert, 66, CEO of Studio Lambert, said: "Taking The Traitors from screen to stage is a hugely exciting next step for this much-loved brand.
"Partnering with Neal Street Productions, a true theatrical powerhouse, allows us to reimagine the show as a bold and surprising theatrical performance.
"Faithful fans should expect an intense, joyful night out as we reveal a thrilling new hunting ground for our Traitors."
