Holly Willoughby planning ambitious new project
Holly Willoughby is said to be working on a "'multi-strand programme for digital platforms".
Holly Willoughby is set to produce and star in a new TV show.
The former This Morning host is said to be working with her husband Dan Baldwin's company Hungry Bear to develop "'multi-strand programme for digital platforms" amid a changing landscape in the TV industry.
A source close to the star told the Daily Mail online: "The television industry has changed significantly in recent years. It is nothing like it used to be so it feels like a good time for Holly to do something a little bit different.
"It's a new format, something completely new, modern and progressive. It's not a podcast. It's not something that anyone has done before.
"She'll be at the centre of things both in front of and behind the scenes. Holly is loving developing the format with a small team."
Holly is one of the names said to be in the frame to host Strictly Come Dancing following the departures of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
Former BBC One Controller Peter Fincham recently told the Daily Mail's Richard Eden's Eden Confidential column: "My hairdresser also cuts the hair of a well-known channel controller. What’s said in Harry’s the hairdresser stays in Harry’s. But he says with great confidence that Holly Willoughby will take over."
The 44-year-old star was previously host of rival programme Dancing on Ice, and after the show came to an end last year, she reflected on what an "absolute privilege" it had been to present the celebrity skating competition.
Alongside a series of throwback images from her time on the programme, Holly wrote on Instagram: "A huge thank you to @itv, The brilliant team, Crew, Celebrities and Everyone who has been part of our Dancing on Ice family over the last 19 years.
"Every year, just when January felt at its greyest, Dancing on Ice arrived like a burst of glittering, dazzling light, warm, joyful, and full of heart… It has been an absolute privilege to work alongside true national treasures Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, and to have a front-row seat to their breathtaking skating. Watching them glide across the ice was nothing less than pure magic… A special thanks must also go to Arnica, Deep Heat,Spanx and fake tan, unsung heroes of the rink!
"… I will miss it hugely, but I count myself so lucky to have had it for as long as we did. Finally and most importantly, thank you to you for watching, you’re the BEST! … [ice, skate and heart emojis] (sic)"
