Alan Carr lands new Disney Plus show after Celebrity Traitors success
Comedian and TV star Alan Carr is capitalising on his Celebrity Traitors win with a castle-based Disney+ show.
Alan Carr is buying and running his own castle for a new Disney+ series.
The UK's first ever Celebrity Traitors winner - who triumphed on the hit BBC game show last year and also fronts a renovation series with friend and co-star Amanda Holden - will combine his recent successes for a new programme under the working title Castle Man.
A synopsis reads: “With Alan’s 50th birthday fast approaching, he finds himself at a moment of reckoning, taking stock of where he is and where he wants to be.
“He has long dreamed of owning a grand château, but after a transformative and iconic stay at The Traitors‘ castle, that fantasy will now become a reality — or will it?
"He doesn’t just want to visit a castle, he wants to build a life in one, a leap of faith driven entirely by Alan himself.”
Alan said in a statement: “Some men, when they have a midlife crisis, buy a Lamborghini or grow a ponytail, but me? I want my very own castle.
"Since I was a boy in Northampton, I’ve always dreamt big, and have always been enchanted with the history and romance of a stately home and as I turn 50, I feel it’s my time.
"All I want is a turret to call my own — get me over that drawbridge!”
The property show is being produced by Expectation, which is the studio behind Clarkson's Farm and Alma's Not Normal.
Staying true to The Traitors, the former Chatty Man host will start filming his new project in Scotland on Thursday (22.01.26).
Disney+ boss Sean Doyle described Alan as "one of those rare talents who brings instant warmth, wit, and originality to everything he touches".
He added: “We’ve watched him turn his hand to stand-up, gameshows, podcast, and presenting, but when we discovered he was looking to purchase a castle to run, we knew this was a journey we had to follow.
"Expect Alan in new territory, with all the same riotous entertainment you know and love."
