Eddie Kadi came away from The Celebrity Apprentice being branded the show's "villain".

Tensions boiled over between the comic, 42, and the 11 other candidates - including Big Brother host AJ Odudu, 37, EastEnders actor Jake Wood, 53, and 39-year-old Gladiators' Matt 'Legend' Morsia - in the boardroom because they took the task of making and selling festive gingerbread biscuits so seriously.

Eddie is quoted by The Sun newspaper's TVBiz column as saying: "Like a dagger through the heart, we turned on each other and it was everyone for themselves. I made it clear I was going to throw everyone under the bus. That’s what I did.

"A villain was created, I was so out of control. The banter was insane. Matt was fighting his way through Lord Sugar; he barely survived what was going down."

Eddie and 11 other stars were split into two teams and sent to Lapland, Finland - the home of Santa - and put through their paces to make their own gingerbread biscuits, in a bid for one of the sweet treats to land on 78-year-old show boss Lord Alan Sugar's good list.

He, Jake, AJ, TV host Rob Rinder, 47, BBC Radio 1 DJ Charlie Hedges, 39, and Paralympian Kadeena Cox, 34, created Jolly McTrouble - a Santa-shaped biscuit consisting of butter toffee, vanilla and Christmas pudding flavoured festive icing.

And opposite team one was Matt, Miranda actress Sarah Hadland, 54, comedienne Shazia Mirza, 50, Strictly Come Dancing 2023 contestant Angela Scanlon, 42, JLS boy band member JB Gill, 39, and 34-year-old The Apprentice 2019 candidate, Thomas Skinner.

They made Gary the Penguin - a penguin-shaped biscuit that combines gingerbread with a blend of lemon, bubble-gum and white pepper.

The celebrities' creations are available to buy in retailers, including Tesco, Amazon Online and Wenzel's The Bakers, and 10 per cent of the sale price goes to BBC Children in Need.

After they faced the brutal task of pitching to retailers, to secure those all-important sales, the two teams' products were scrutinised in the boardroom by Lord Sugar and his aides, Mike Soutar, 58, and 56 year old Baroness Karren Brady.

And Matt - who is no stranger to conflict on Gladiators - had no fear in taking on business magnate Lord Sugar in the tense boardroom.

Matt said: "A lot of people won’t have the balls to speak back to Lord Sugar, but not many are Gladiators.

"I have a desire to show people how good I am. If someone questions what I’ve done, it’s my right to put them right and make sure they know they’re wrong.

"I’ve performed to arenas of 4,000 people, built an audience of over five million and amassed over a billion views. So 10 people in a boardroom is not an issue for me."

But Sarah struggled with the pressure in the boardroom.

She said: "To start with, you’re cocky, you think it went well and, ‘We all got on great, nothing to worry about’.

"Then Lord Sugar started praising the other team, our stomachs sank, we were like ‘Oh no, am I going to get fired on national TV? I don’t think this is very funny anymore!’ Then he really went for us!"
