Scarlett Moffatt has decided not to have any more children after she experienced the agony of losing a baby.

The former Gogglebox star is mother to two-year-old son Jude with her husband Scott Dobinson and she has now revealed she suffered a devastating miscarriage last year and it's convinced her to stop trying to expand her family to give her boy a sibling.

She told The Sun newspaper: "We had a miscarriage after Jude. It happened quite late on. We had told people [about the pregnancy] and we were really excited.

"We had talked about what life would be like, how they would run down the stairs together as siblings at Christmas, so you mourn the loss of that and the life you imagined."

She added: "I was lying in bed with Scott one day, and I said: 'I just don't think I can handle the heartbreak any more. I think we should stop. We've got Jude, so let's enjoy him'.

"Anyone that goes through that, my heart breaks for them, and I just think it's so brave when people then continue the journey because it is soul-destroying.'"

After becoming a first-time mother in 2023, Scarlett opened up about the traumatic birth during an appearance on TV show Loose Women.

She said of her experience: "One of the things I really didn't want when you do a birthing plan was a blood transfusion but I lost, like yeah, I think it was like one and a half litres of blood.

"So I was really woozy, and I said [to my husband]: 'Please go with him [Jude]' and then he had hypoglycemia. He had low blood sugars, he had jaundice, and I sort of wheeled myself down to NICU and Scott was like: 'What are you doing woman, get in bed'."

She later paid tribute to the staff who cared for her and her baby at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Durham hospital.

In a post on Instagram, Scarlett wrote: "It's NICU awareness month. Some of you may know Jude was my little miracle baby, who surprised us super early at just 35 weeks and 5 days, a whole month early.

"I'm always so grateful to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Durham hospital for all their help support during that time ... "
