Former X Factor star Chico has channelled the fighting spirit of late heavyweight boxing legend Muhammad Ali into a new song.

The reality TV icon - whose real name is Yousseph Slimani – first shot to fame in 2005 after appearing on the second series of the ITV talent show, where he finished fifth under the mentorship of judge Sharon Osbourne, becoming the first artist to perform his own track It's Chico Time.

After stepping back from pop stardom to run fitness and spiritual retreats, Chico has returned to his musical roots with G.O.A.T., a powerful new anthem written for X Faktors Latvija star Agnes Jones.

Blending his love of music and spirituality, G.O.A.T. - an acronym for “Greatest Of All Time” - draws inspiration from the late heavyweight champion often hailed as “The Greatest".

Injecting Muhammad Ali’s fearless energy into the track, Chico’s song celebrates courage, authenticity, self-belief and resilience, a musical reminder to rise above doubt and embrace your true power.

Speaking exclusively to Contact Music, Chico said: “The G.O.A.T was befitting of one of my favourite people in the world. Agnes is just a beautiful soul with bundles of energy hence why I called her the Latvian G.O.A.T. Not just the greatest of all time, but when she came to my HU Breath retreat in Portugal. We often go for hikes and excursions, everyone is taking the normal route and when I look around she’s already climbed some crazy hill and is standing on top like superwoman. So I thought the song is perfect for her because it needs someone with her energy to perform it.”

For Chico, the experience was nothing short of “pure joy” and a “labour of love”, he added: “To me the G.O.A.T resonates because I love Muhammad Ali and he was one of my inspirations with Bruce lee and Bob Marley. He would say ‘to be a champion you gotta believe you’re the champion, if not, then make sure that the world believes that you’re the greatest’. Agnes’ energy is such that she embodies it. But in truth the G.O.A.T to me is being your authentic self, to follow your passion no matter what anyway says and Agnes is just THAT."

According to Agnes, the collaboration was more than coincidence, it was destiny.

She said: “I saw Chico performing at a festival and was really inspired by his energy and positivity, though I didn’t think much of it at the time. Then one night, I had a vivid dream where Chico and I were spiritually connecting — talking about music, dreams, and spirituality. The very next day, by complete coincidence, my friend Marcus invited me to a football game — and Chico was there! I told him about the dream, and that moment sparked our friendship. Later, he invited me to his retreat in Portugal, where we spent a beautiful week getting to know each other more deeply. That’s really how our friendship — and eventually our collaboration on G.O.A.T. — began.

"We’re already in talks to create another song. We share such a beautiful connection, both musically and spiritually, and working with him always feels inspiring and effortless. Chico has such a positive, uplifting energy, and I’d love to continue exploring that spiritual side through my music."

G.O.A.T is out now.
