Alan Cumming would "love" to join Celebrity Traitors to "see it from the other side".

The 60-year-old actor is the host of the US version of the hit reality game show of bluff and deception, and after the BBC's successful first celebrity spinoff - which was won by Alan Carr - he would jump at the chance to test his skills as a player with Claudia Winkleman at the helm.

He told the Radio Times Magazine: "I’d love to do it. It’d be so fascinating to see it from the other side because I see up-close how people make terrible decisions when they’re mesmerised by this psychological experiment. "It’s around episode five or six that they start taking leave of their senses."

Alan will be seen back in Andross Castle - the same location for the UK version - for the fourth series of the US game, which returns in January 2026.

He admitted while he had confidence in the format, he never expected it to become such a global juggernaut.

He said: "I thought it was going to be good but I had no idea that it would become this cultural phenomenon.

"People love it because there’s a panto element to it: it’s a way for us to boo and hiss and scream at the baddies and cheer the goodies."

Alan explained he is always open to any role or project, and he has learned to trust his instinct when it comes to making his decisions.

He revealed: "I believe in saying yes – and why not? If you have the pizazz and passion for it, give it a go.

"I feel like the most successful things I’ve done are things I haven’t overthought. I’ve just had a funny feeling in my tummy, excited and inspired."

The UK version will return for its own fourth series on New Year's Day with 22 people from across the country descending on the castle to try and win up to £120,000.

Meanwhile, The Celebrity Traitors - which pulled in an audience of 15 million people for the final - will also be back for a second run.

Kalpna Patel-Knight, the head of entertainment at the BBC, said in a statement: "In 2026 the doors of the castle will be opened again to welcome celebrity players to the game to see who can charm, who can scheme and ultimately who can survive in series two which promises to be just as unmissable as the first."
