Christina Applegate 'hospitalised' amid MS battle
It has been claimed that Christina Applegate was "hospitalised" in "late March" as she continues her battle with multiple sclerosis (MS).
Christina Applegate has reportedly been "hospitalised" amid her multiple sclerosis (MS) battle.
Sources have claimed to TMZ that the 54-year-old actress was "admitted" to a Los Angeles hospital in "late March", but a reason is yet to be revealed.
A representative for the Vacation star told the outlet: "I have no comment whether she is in the hospital or what her medical treatments are.
"She's had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast."
In June 2021, Christina first announced her battle with MS - an incurable chronic autoimmune disease that impacts the brain and spinal cord.
And in March 2025, the Married... With Children alum revealed she ended up in hospital more than 30 times with "unimaginable" pain with her MS, which can cause issues including muscle weakness, vision changes and numbness.
Speaking on her MesSY podcast, she explained: "This is really important because for three years, since I was diagnosed, I’ve been in the hospital upwards of 30 times from throwing up, diarrhoea and pain that is unimaginable.
"They’ve done every test known to man on me, put so much radiation into my body from CT scans to everything else."
Christina urged her listeners to get checked out over certain issues, and she described the problem as being like every organ in the body is "fighting" with the other.
The Bad Moms cast member said: "Now, maybe this isn’t what’s happening, but I’m just gonna tell you this: Talk to your doctor about motility issues, OK?
"Because one of the things with MS is that it slows down our organs - not completely, but there is a slowing of the function of your organs. I’m gonna be really honest, if I have to poop, I puke. And when I puke, I get all the pain, and then all the things happen.
"So, there’s this really horrible argument. It’s like everyone’s fighting with each other."
In February 2026, Christina - who has a 15-year-old daughter called Sadie with her 57-year-old husband, Porno for Pyros bassist Martyn LeNoble - shared she is largely confined to her bedroom because of her MS battle.
She told People: "I want to take her [to school]; it’s my favourite thing to do. It’s the only time we have together by ourselves.
"I tell myself, 'Just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed.' And that’s what I do."
Christina noted that her life "isn’t wrapped up with a bow".
The entertainer added: "People’s lives, sorry for lack of a better term, f****** suck sometimes. So I’m being as honest and raw as I possibly can."
Last month, Christina revealed she bought a final resting place for herself and two other people in a "really pretty" spot because she has regularly thought about death since being diagnosed with MS.
Appearing on an episode of NPR's Wild Card with Rachel Martin podcast, the Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy actress said: "It's looming. I mean, it looms for all of us.
"But for people who have a disease like this, you never know, you know? I bought my plots already, OK? I bought them.
"There's going to be three of us there. But I did. My friend and I are going go take a picnic there. It's really pretty where it is."
Christina bought the burial plots because they were available and because her family would not have to sort out a resting place when she dies.
The Hollywood star said: "I've been thinking about this particular area of this particular place for so long. And I finally was like, 'Is this available?'
"They're like, 'Yes, it is.' I was like, 'Oh, my God, buying it now.'
"Just buy it now. That way, nobody has to deal with it."
