Rivals was among the big winners at this year's International Emmy Awards, and show bosses have dedicated the prize to late novelist Jilly Cooper.

The iconic author and Rivals executive producer passed away last month, aged 88, following a fall at her home.

Dominic Treadwell-Collins - who executive produced the first series alongside Jilly - admitted she would be up there surrounded by "dogs and half-naked, oiled-up men" calling the programme's Drama Series International Emmy win "orgasmic".

Speaking to the International Emmy Awards audience on Monday (24.11.25) in New York City, Dominic said: "Rivals is based on a series of novels by the most incredible British writer, Jilly Cooper, who died suddenly last month, in her 80s.

"She was still giving us notes on the Thursday evening, and she died on the Saturday.

"She was the heart and soul of our show. She would be so, so chuffed about this.

"We just want to call her and tell her we've won, but we know she's up there looking down at us surrounded by dogs and half-naked, oiled-up men going, 'Darling, it's orgasmic.' "

Dominic began his speech by admitting the show had been "desperate" to win the accolade.

He said: "I was going to play this really, really cool, but I'm so not.

"We're so, so chuffed. Thank you so, so much.

"This means everything. We've been desperate for this.

"To have made a show with friends means more than anything."

It was a successful night for the Brits in New York, particularly Anna Maxwell Martin.

The 48-year-old actress and David Mitchell's detective dramedy Ludwig won the Comedy prize, and Anna also scooped the Best Performance by an Actress accolade for ITV drama Until I Kill You.

The Line of Duty star paid tribute to the acting industry, as she accepted her gong.

She told the crowd: "I feel so honoured, so lucky every day to be part of this industry.

"I just love it, I love my job, I love meeting everybody in this industry, who I am around every day, all day, so thank you so much."

What's more, Australian children's TV series Bluey landed the Kids: Animation accolade.
