TV star Sian Welby has explained why she's delayed planning her wedding.
Sian Welby has delayed planning her wedding because she wants to focus on the challenge of motherhood.
The 39-year-old TV star and her fiance, Jake Beckett, welcomed their daughter Ruby into the world in June 2024, and Sian admits that it's delayed their plans to tie the knot.
She told the Daily Mail: "My brain hasn't got the capacity for it. I want to enjoy it [wedding planning]. The last thing I want is a wedding to be another job or feel like a chore or stress.
"I think when I'm in the right headspace, maybe if, I don't know I find time for it and slow down."
Despite this, Sian already has a firm idea in mind as to what her wedding day will look like.
The TV star confessed that she wants a big ceremony and a "free bar".
She said: "I would love a big like a barn or, you know, a sort of big event where everyone could just have a laugh and free bar."
Sian and Jake have also had to lean on each other in order to navigate the challenges of parenthood.
The This Morning star said: "The fiancé takes the back burner, bless him, because both of you as a couple are trying to find time for the baby. And then you realise when are we gonna do a date night and bless us we have tried.
"We hit 8pm and we're closed out, we're like falling asleep on the Tube home and you realise how hard it is.
"Everyone says those first two years they're ill, they don't sleep, you're trying to adjust. You get through one phase and then they start another one.
"I think in general I'm in the trenches and so me and Jake have to just keep checking in with each other. You know, take it in turns to apologise."
