Alan Carr got 'abuse from the gays' after 'murdering' Tom Daley on The Celebrity Traitors
Viewers were not happy that comedian Alan Carr 'murdered' retired Olympic diver Tom Daley on The Celebrity Traitors.
Alan Carr got "abuse from the gays" after he 'murdered' Tom Daley on The Celebrity Traitors.
Retired Olympic diver Tom, 31, was the second victim Traitors Alan, 49, broadcaster Jonathan Ross, 65, and singer Cat Burns, 25, sent packing from Ardross Castle, Scottish Highlands - the setting of the BBC's ultimate game of backstabbing, deceit and betrayal - because the trio thought Faithful Tom would suss them out.
And Alan - who, like Tom, is openly gay - claims some of the show's viewers from the gay community did not like him doing away with the "only eye candy in the castle", after he 'murdered' singer Paloma Faith, 44, in plain sight.
Appearing on Friday morning's (21.11.25) episode of ITV's This Morning, Alan told hosts Dermot O'Leary, 52, and 36 year old Rochelle Humes: "I 'murdered' Paloma. I felt awful.
"And then the next week, when I 'murdered' Tom Daley, I was getting abuse from the gays. 'Oh, you've killed the only eye candy in the castle, Alan!' Like, 'Hello!'
"And then I had to kill poor [actress] Celia Imrie]."
In the penultimate episode of The Celebrity Traitors, Alan almost gave his true identity away after he burst out in fits of laughter whilst trying to tell his fellow finalists - former rugby player Joe Marler, 35, actor Nick Mohammed, 45, writer David Olusoga, 55, and Cat - that he is a Faithful.
And Alan - who won the programme after convincing Faithfuls Nick and David he was not a Traitor - is still shocked that he managed to stay undetected.
The star - who won the £87,500 prize pot for a charity of his choice - said: "When I laughed in their face, I went, 'I'm a Faithful,' I was just expecting around the roundtable, 'Alan, Alan, Alan.'
"And then I think David said, 'I could've come down for breakfast in that green cloak holding a lantern, and they still wouldn't have voted [for me]."
When Alan found out he won The Celebrity Traitors, he broke down in tears.
Speaking about that moment, the comic said: "What made me cry was Nick - because around that roundtable and at the end, he looked at me, and he was like, 'We've got this,' and I was like, 'No, I've got this.'
"What came over me? I started getting a blood lust ... I wanted a murder."
