Alex Scott says being away from her girlfriend Jess Glynne will be a "test" when she takes part in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!.

The 41-year-old footballer-turned-presenter is part of the line-up for the latest series of the ITV reality staple in the Australian jungle and says it will be the longest time she has been apart from the pop star since they started dating in 2023.

Asked what she'll miss most about Jess, 36, Alex told The Sun: "Her cooking pasta for me is absolutely everything.

"Those quiet moments when you're life's 100mph, just coming home... she loves to cook, and we love to sit and have a glass of wine, I'll most probably be watching football in the background.

"I'm definitely going to miss that, especially when I'm so hungry.

"Most probably all I'm going to be thinking about is, 'Please, can I just have Jessica's pasta right now?'

"It's a test for both of us."

Alex says that Jess will be her "biggest cheerleader" watching on at home and revealed that the Hold My Hand hitmaker had urged her to sign up for the show.

The Football Focus host said: "I know she's at home and she's going to be my biggest cheerleader supporting me.

"She really wanted me to do this because she knew that I wanted to test myself.

"It is going to be a challenge for us both being separated. But I suppose that's what makes the heart grow fonder, right?"

Alex revealed that she may have her "armour up" in the jungle to protect her relationship with Jess.

The former England international said: "I think I've managed to let it (my guard) down over the years. Obviously, I wrote my book and revealed a lot of personal stuff.

"But I do think over the last couple of years, I feel like my armour's come back up again. It's like a form of protection.

"I don't know whether that's work and what goes on around me and how people maybe perceive me."

Scott continued: "And maybe, I suppose, my relationship with Jess.

"From the start, we were very guarded and private with that because we wanted to just get to know each other and let what it was blossom and us figure out ourselves before it was out there for the world.

"So I suppose, naturally, that guard has just come up again because you want to protect either the loved ones around you, and not let anything come and penetrate that and destroy that.

"I think because you want to just keep it so special."
