Kevin Clifton thinks Stacey Dooley makes an 'amazing' Strictly Come Dancing host
Kevin Clifton says his girlfriend Stacey Dooley would do an "amazing" job of fronting Strictly Come Dancing.
Kevin Clifton does not think he should host Strictly Come Dancing alongside his girlfriend Stacey Dooley.
The couple's names have been thrown into the ring as possible contenders to replace current presenters Tess Daly, 56, and Claudia Winkleman, 53, but Kevin thinks Stacey should front it with someone else.
Appearing on Monday's (27.10.25) episode of ITV's Good Morning Britain, anchor Charlotte Hawkins, 50, asked Kevin, 43, what he made of the suggestion of him and Stacey, 38, taking control of the presenting reins.
Charlotte's co-host Ed Balls, 58, then described Strictly Come Dancing's former pro and Stacey as the "dream team".
Kevin - who won the Latin and Ballroom dance competition with the documentary maker in 2018 - said: "Yeah, I don't know about that.
"Stacey would be amazing. We've had no conversations about it."
Elsewhere in the interview, Charlotte - who did Strictly Come Dancing in 2017 - asked Kevin: "What do you make of Tess and Claudia's decision, they're handing in the baton, having someone else take the reins?"
Kevin said: "Yeah, end of an era for them."
He then quipped: "Start of the Charlotte and Ed era, isn't it?"
At the start of Kevin's chat, Ed - who took part in Strictly Come Dancing in 2016 - asked the star if he missed doing the Saturday night show.
Kevin replied: "Not necessarily the workload, but I still love it.
"Me and Stacey are on the other side of it now, where we sit down like everyone else and watch it as fans. We're obsessed with Strictly.
"We've become superfans now."
If it were not for Strictly Come Dancing, Kevin and Stacey potentially would not have met, and their two-year-old daughter, Minnie, would not have been born.
He said: "It totally changed everything. I met my girlfriend, and I have a daughter now with her. It's genuinely changed everything."
On October 23, Tess and Claudia announced their departures from Strictly Come Dancing - which will be at the end of the current series - on Instagram.
However, the presenting duo's final appearance will be on the programme's Christmas special, which airs on Christmas Day.
Since then, viewers have named many celebrities as their potential replacements, including former Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two hosts Rylan Clark, 37, and Zoe Ball, 54, as well as 51-year-old actress Hannah Waddingham.
