Vicky Pattison is making a concerted effort to relax during training for Strictly Come Dancing.

The 37-year-old TV star admits she's not proud of her vaping, but she believes it's actually helping with her preparations for the BBC show.

Speaking on her Get A Grip podcast, Vicky said: "Giving up things is really hard. I can't remember the specific turning point. Last week ... it's always emotions with me. Like, I know I'm doing that ... I'm craving relaxation.

"In a world where I can't cultivate it naturally because my schedule's a bit unrelenting, I'm doing it synthetically. I think I will give it up at some point, I am really trying.

"I was about five, six days in, but then it all unravelled. So I'm back vaping. I'm not proud of it, but it's who I am. I am a vapist!"

Vicky previously admitted that she's wanted to compete on Strictly for "years".

The TV star revealed that she was fulfilling a long-held ambition by joining the BBC show, and she's determined to make the most of the opportunity.

She told Radio Times magazine: "When I got it, I was so shocked, I said to my agent, 'Can I think about it?' She said, 'Yes, but just so you know, you're doing it.'"

Vicky sees appearing on Strictly as an "amazing opportunity" for her.

However, the reality TV star also confessed to feeling anxious ahead of her Strictly debut.

She said: "I’m absolutely buzzing to be part of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing line-up ... but I'd be lying if I said I wasn’t terrified.

"I am a not a natural dancer! However, it’s such an amazing opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone and to challenge myself in a completely new way, and I just really hope I don't make too much of a fool of myself!"
