Natalie Ann Jamieson and Ash Palmisciano say Emmerdale's Inside Soap Awards Showstopper win made the tough stunt shoot worth it.

In February, the ITV soap gave viewers a shocking moment when two limos, which were carrying 17 of the villagers in total, smashed into each other.

The women's limo carried Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton), Amy Wyatt (Natalie), Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh), Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick), Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough), Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi), Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins).

And the men's limo had Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson), Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb), Sam Dingle (James Hooton), Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards), Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano), Caleb Miligan (William Ash), Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) on board.

However, it was Natalie's alter ego, Amy Wyatt - who she played for six years - who died after suffering from a cardiac arrest, brought on by severe hypothermia as the bed and breakfast worker plunged into an icy lake.

Ash, 35, and Natalie, 37, are thrilled that those long hours filming the stunt scenes at night paid off with the Best Showstopper award.

Natalie exclusively told BANG Showbiz at the Inside Soap Awards in London on Monday night (29.09.25): "We’re absolutely thrilled!

"Everybody worked so hard on those episodes. So yeah, we’re really happy because it’s well-deserved.

"It was long hours, it was cold, it was amazing. But yeah, people worked so hard. So like you say, for the hard work to pay off is really nice."

Even though Ash and his fellow Emmerdale cast members were saddened that Amy was killed off, he is so proud of Natalie's performance.

Ash said of the fatal storyline: "It was amazing. To be honest, we loved working on it. Obviously, it was incredibly sad, but Nat absolutely smashed it and put so much time into it. Everybody did - all the cast in the girls' limo, all the cast in the boys' limo.

"The ladies had the harder job - granted.

"But all of those late night shoots, and it was just before our Christmas break as well, and everyone was really tired from the year, they were working until the early hours in the morning in freezing cold water.

"And I think it looked amazing. We all watched it together, and we were really pleased with it. And to win [the award] is the best, the icing on the cake."

Emmerdale fended off Craig Tinker's death (Coronation Street), Nish and Suki Panesar's final showdown (EastEnders) and Mercedes McQueen faces her cancer scars (Hollyoaks) to win the Best Showstopper award.
