Joe Swash is set to host an hour-long documentary about young dads.

The 43-year-old actor - who is married to fellow TV star Stacey Solomon - is making a new, one-off documentary called Joe Swash: Britain's Young Dads for BBC Three.

Joe told The Sun newspaper: "We don’t often hear from – or talk about – young dads in the UK. It’s been eye-opening to meet the young men behind the statistics.

"The ones working hard to create a good future for their kids. I feel lucky that we’ve been able to help tell their stories and hopefully we can get people thinking a bit differently about young dads."

Ceri Aston, the BBC's commissioning editor, said: "We’re delighted that Joe is fronting this powerful documentary which shines a light on the reality of young fatherhood.

"As someone who became a first-time dad in his mid-twenties, Joe brings a deeply personal perspective to the film, giving a voice to young men whose stories are rarely heard.

"We hope this documentary helps challenge stereotypes and reshape perceptions of these dads on their journey through fatherhood."

Joe and Stacey - who have been married since 2022 - starred in their own reality series earlier this year,

The celebrity couple let the cameras into their home to film the BBC reality series Stacey and Joe, and the 35-year-old TV star took to social media shortly before the final episode aired to reflect on season one of the show.

Stacey said in an Instagram video: "I'm just sitting down, the girls have gone to bed and I'm getting ready to watch our show.

"I've just realised it's the last episode tonight it's gone so quickly I feel like it was only yesterday we were pooing ourselves about it coming out on the telly and now it's at the end.

"But I just wanted to come on here quickly and say your messages and all of the things I get tagged in and all the comments and everything about the show have been so lovely. The feedback has been really amazing."
