Vladimir Putin makes Jesus comparison in his battle to maintain Russian values
Russian president Vladimir Putin has likened himself to Jesus as he attempts to preserve "traditional" values for the country's young people amid the growing influence of the "Satanic" West.
Vladimir Putin likened himself to Jesus as he battles to preserve "traditional" values in Russia.
The tyrant has positioned himself as a defender of the Christian faith against the "Satanic" West in attempts to justify his country's ongoing war with Ukraine and talked in deeply religious terms as he stated the importance of shaping the world view of young people in Russia.
Putin quoted from the Bible in a video link appearance to mark the opening of children's centres near Moscow and suggested that his role in influencing the Russian population away from Western values is comparable to that of Peter and Andrew - two fishermen who were asked by Jesus to spread the word of God.
The despot said: "Do you remember how Jesus came to Galilee and saw the fishermen beside the Sea of Galilee?
"One was catching fish, another was fixing his net. And he said to them: 'Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men, fishers of human souls.' They became his evangelists, his students.
"This was very important at a time when world religions were developing... but it is no less current now, when we must defend our traditional values, our culture, our traditions and our history. This is very important for the future of our country."
