Ewan McGregor insists intimacy coordinator was 'necessary' for sex scenes with his real wife
Ewan McGregor says intimacy coordinators are important for the crew as well as actors.
Ewan McGregor says an intimacy coordinator was "still necessary" for his sex scenes with his own wife.
The 'Trainspotting' star, 52, and his spouse Mary Elizabeth Winstead, 39, still needed to ensure the people working around them were comfortable when they did the racy scenes for their new thriller series 'A Gentleman in Moscow'.
He told Radio Times: “We did have an intimacy coordinator.
“It’s still necessary, because it’s also about the crew, and it’s odd to be naked in front of people; it’s odd to be intimate in front of the camera.
“If you were doing a dance scene, you’d have a choreographer.”
Elizabeth insists it was a breeze working with her other half.
His wife added: “A lot of people would say, ‘Oh, not all couples work well together.’ For me, that’s hard to imagine, because it was so the opposite.
“To work with an actor who you have that immediate connection with… there’s no block to get over, there’s nothing to work through. It’s just there, it’s simple and pure. It was amazing.”
Ewan previously confessed he finds sex scenes "awkward".
He told 'The Graham Norton Show': “I don’t like them very much. They are awkward because it is a strange and bizarre thing to be doing. It’s not a normal situation, I am 40 now, and the actresses get younger and younger.”
