Rachel Bilson tried a vibrator for the first time when she was in her mid-thirties and it made orgasms "easy".

The 41-year-old 'Hart of Dixie' star has opened up about her sex life in a candid episode of her 'Broad Ideas' podcast - admitting she had no experience of using toys until she was given one as a gift and it was an eye-opening experience for her.

She explained: "I didn’t have a vibrator until I was in my mid-thirties. I hadn’t even tried a toy [until then], and it was given to me as a gift. And then it was like: ‘Oh, this is easy!’”

Rachel previously confessed she didn't have an orgasm until she was 38 and in her latest podcast, the actress declared she had a sexual awakening over the last few years.

She explained: "It took a very long time [to finally have an orgasm]. It finally happened and then the floodgates opened. It was easier. Mostly it was about me and my body and being comfortable and figuring out position and whatnot. Now I can with different partners. It’s learning your body."

She also went on to insist she's never faked an orgasm with any of her former partners - who include Adam Brody, Bill Hader and Hayden Christensen.

She added: "I start to go into that people-pleasing thing. Am I just a d*** because I never gave [my partners] that? It goes against my whole nature of being a people pleaser and putting the dude first."

However, Rachel also confirmed that speaking openly about sex on podcasts has cost her work - as she lost a job recently over comments.

She went on to say: "This is the first time it’s ever happened to me in my professional life that I lost a job this week because of things that were said,.

"A job got taken away from me because I was speaking candidly and openly about sex in a humorous way on our friend’s podcast. I basically got a job, that I already had, pulled from me because I was speaking openly about sex."
