Kelly Rowland says her son “shouldn’t be listening” to his favourite Destiny’s Child track as it’s too raunchy.

The singer, 42, was in the ’90s girlband phenomenon with Beyoncé, 41, and Michelle Williams, 43, before it disbanded in 2006 and said her eight-year-old boy Titan loves their song ‘Soldier’, which details the group’s preferences in a male lover.

Kelly – who had Titan, as well as son Noah Jon, two, with her husband Tim Weatherspoon – told Entertainment Tonight Canada when asked what music her eldest is into: “What does he like? He likes a song that I actually wrote for him called ‘Don’t You Worry’.

“And there’s a DC song, of course, that he loves, called ‘Soldier’.

“But he shouldn’t be listening to that song. Not the ‘known to carry big things, if you know what I mean’. It becomes very strange.”

Along with the lyrics stating the band wanted men who “carry big things”, it added they preferred a “thug”, as well as “country boys” and a “soldier” who is “street” and “hood”.

Kelly added: “No it is (a great song.) But, could you just be talking about a truck? Or a dinosaur? Please! It starts to get strange.”

She said she has seen early signs Titan may end up being a singer and said she’d support him if he decided to go into showbiz.

Kelly added: “Titan was at the doctor’s office the other day and there’s this little inside part kind of thing that they have.

“And I just hear this little angelic choir-like voice… it was such a shock because he was just singing so beautiful and so crystal clear. His voice is really beautiful… not just because he’s my kid.

“I would definitely support him, but he’s just enjoying being a kid.”
