Daisy May Cooper is to star as DJ Fat Tony's mum in a new movie.
The This Country star, 39, is said to have agreed to appear in the forthcoming film, a big screen adaptation of Tony’s hard-hitting memoir I Don’t Take Requests.
A source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "Tony is really proud of his memoir and now he’s in the process of turning it into a film.
"He’s been telling everyone that Daisy was going to be playing his mum in the film."
Tony grew up on a London council estate with mum Dawn, and he went onto become one of the world's top DJs, as well as battle drug addiction, and be diagnosed with HIV.
The source said: "The book is an amazing read and Tony thinks it will translate well to the big screen.
"Tony has overcome so many hurdles in his life, from his Class-A drug addiction to being diagnosed with HIV - and like the book, the film won’t shy away from any of it."
Comedy star Daisy is best known for co-creating and starring in mockumentary sitcom This Country alongside her brother Charlie Cooper.
The source added: "Daisy is a sensational actress and Tony had a real coup getting her on board.
"It will be fascinating to see who he casts as some of his famous mates and, more importantly, who is going to be playing him."
Daisy is also no stranger to the big screen, after she appeared in 2019 film The Personal History of David Copperfield, which also featured Tilda Swinton, Dev Patel, Peter Capaldi, and Hugh Laurie.
In January 2024, Daisy told how she was planning to write a film, because she recalled Simon Pegg saying there was "money in movies".
She told The Observer newspaper: "The next thing I want to do is write a film.
"That’s what Simon Pegg did. I remember him saying, 'Money wise, don’t bother with TV series, the money is in movies.'
"So I’m going to give that a go. If that fails, I’m going to start my own OnlyFans account; whatever is the least amount of effort.
"I’d charge punters £100 for me to say, 'You’re a cockwomble' to them."
Daisy is keen to pen a movie about model Katie Price's life.
She explained: "My ultimate ambition is to write the film script for Katie Price: The Movie.
"I’d play Katie and I’d make it win an Oscar and if I could get my t*ts done like hers on a production budget, then that would be the dream."
