Nicholas Galitzine joins 100 Nights of Hero cast
Nicholas Galitzine has signed up to star in the film adaptation of the graphic novel '100 Nights of Hero'.
Nicholas Galitzine is to star in '100 Nights of Hero'.
The 29-year-old actor has joined the cast of the adaptation of Isabel Greenberg's graphic novel of the same name that Julia Jackman is directing.
A feminist fairy tale inspired by 'Arabian Nights', '100 Nights of Hero' centres on two women, Cherry and Hero, who are in love with each other.
Cherry is married to a man named Jerome, who makes a bet with his lecherous friend Manfred that Manfred can seduce Cherry within 100 nights.
If Manfred is successful, Jerome promises to give Cherry to him. However, Cherry isn't interested in his advances and devises a plan with Hero - who tells him stories over the course of 100 nights to distract him from his seduction attempts.
Nicholas is set to play the role of Manfred in the picture that is to begin shooting this month.
Galitzine starred opposite Anne Hathaway in the romcom 'The Idea of You' and dismissed comparisons between his boyband heartthrob alter ego Hayes Campbell – who falls for 40-year-old single mother Solene Marchand (Hathaway) in the film – and pop sensation Harry Styles, who has had romances with older females.
He told Variety at Vanity Fair's Oscars Party: "It's funny because it's not a comparison that I've ever made. But people really like to make it. Hayes Campbell, the man I'm playing, is a very different character and we want him to exist in his own world."
Nicholas learned a lot during the making of 'The Idea of You' and hopes that it can lead to more musical opportunities in the future.
He said: "I feel like I learned a huge amount about myself working on this.
"It was an incredibly steep learning curve.
"I am setting some things in motion already. I definitely have an eye to the future for this sort of stuff."
