Alyson Hannigan still uses actual Buffy The Vampire Slayer props for her Halloween decorations.

The 52-year-old actress, who starred alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy's best friend Willow Rosenberg in every episode of the hit show from 1997 to 2003, has revealed her home's outdoor display is filled with spooky artefacts taken after filming.

She wrote on Instagram: "Just a little graveyard tour! Can you tell I like Halloween just a little bit!

"You might recognize a tombstone or two… #buffythevampireslayer #halloween"

In a video shared with her followers, Alyson took everyone on a "little graveyard tour Buffy style" after she was gifted props from the show when filming wrapped over 20 years ago.

She explained: "One of the benefits of being on Buffy the Vampire Slayer was that set deck gave me a bunch of Halloween stuff.

"They used to loan me things for Halloween, and then when the show was over, they're like, 'Just take it all.'"

Fans will have spotted various tombstones in the video, which could have been featured in the opening credits with the cast running through a cemetery.

Alyson sat beside one in particular bearing the name Ariel Jane, and she joked it'd "seen better days".

She added: "This is so incredible, could've been in the opening credits. It's showing it's age - aren't we all?"

Another item which delighted fans in the comments was a huge metal and wooden cross.

Alyson said: "This, you might recognise from Buffy. It's been on maybe the credits? You guys tell me! I bet you can tell me when you've seen this."

Fans were quick to rush to the comment section, as a follower pinpointed the exact scene the iconic prop was used in.

Fan account @BuffyProps wrote: "Spike draped himself on that cross in season seven and began to sizzle and smoke!”

The scene in question saw James Marsters character embrace the cross after getting his soul back.

Another fan quipped: "Its just sitting there like it doesn’t house one of the most traumatic heartbreaks of the series!”

The video also included a peek at a casket with a skeleton looking like it's climbing out.

Alyson explained: "This is, like, really fragile, however many years old. 30 years old, gosh!

"This was one of the skeletons they would use, I think, first season. So gross, it's so creepy. I love it!"

Sarah Michelle Gellar was actually set to reprise her role as Buffy Summers in planned revival Buffy: New Sunnydale, but announced earlier this year that plans have been scrapped and the series won't be going ahead.

told PEOPLE magazine: "We had an executive on our show who was not only not a fan of the original, but was proud to constantly remind us that he had never seen the entirety of the series and how it wasn't for him.

"That's very hard when you're taking a property that is as beloved as Buffy, not just to the world, but to me and Chloé [Zhao, director].

"So that tells you the uphill battle that we had been fighting since day one, when your executive is literally proud to tell you that he didn't watch it."

Meanwhile, the outlet noted that sources claim the door is still open for more Buffy, with Hulu trying to figure out what the next step should be.

However, an insider said: "Disney owns the IP. As it stands today, it can't go elsewhere.

"But that doesn't mean the team behind the reboot, including Sarah and Chloé, Nora and Lilla Zuckerman [the screenwriters and executive producers], can't take their talent and ideas elsewhere.”
