Selma Blair promises recent 'health-related' issue was 'nothing scary'
Selma Blair has opened up about a recent "health-related" issue, insisting it was "nothing scary".
Selma Blair has assured fans that a “health-related” issue that came up recently was “nothing scary”.
The 54-year-old actress - who suffers from multiple sclerosis (MS) - took to Instagram on Monday (28.09.26) to reveal that “one of those things” she was going to get to this year “suddenly couldn’t wait”.
She wrote: “Something health-related came up recently. Nothing scary (I promise), just one of those things I was going to get to this year anyway, and then suddenly it couldn’t wait.
“But anyone who has spent as much of their life in doctors’ offices as I have knows what even a planned appointment costs. “The energy. The day. The bracing. An unplanned one can take over everything.”
She went on to thank Dr. Scott Braunstein and his team at Sollis, “an amazing concierge medical service for urgent or emergency care”, for “being taken care of quickly” - adding that it’s “not something I take for granted”.
Selma continued: “Knowing a team of medical professionals is in my corner, even for the mundane stuff, takes so much of the worry out of it.
“I get to be a person again instead of a patient.”
Selma, who didn’t reveal the nature of the medical issue she had dealt with, concluded by urging others who “know the feeling of bracing yourself before making that call” to also get in touch with the medical team.
The Cruel Intentions star was quickly met with messages of support in her Instagram comments, with one person writing: “It’s so, so important to find doctors who listen and care, and who actually make you look forward to your appointment instead of fearing it.
“So happy to hear that everything is okay with you!”
Another added: “Oh that’s seriously the best Selm!!! I literally cried 2 weeks ago at my Drs Appt just because she LISTENED, cared, took me seriously, and immediately started me on different meds… Just having someone be kind to us is the biggest deal.”
As a third commented: “You have a lot of people you've never met but have entertained that are rooting for you daily.”
