Actress Dove Cameron married Maneskin frontman Damiano David in Italy on Thursday (24.09.26).
Dove Cameron has married Maneskin frontman Damiano David in Italy.
The 30-year-old actress/singer tied the knot with her musician partner - the frontman of the Eurovision Song Contest-winning band - at the town hall in Montalcino, Tuscany on Thursday (24.09.26) with the couple wearing matching white suits for their big day.
Pictures published online show the happy couple surrounded by friends and family outside the wedding venue with the bride holding a bouquet of white flowers.
The couple first met at the MTV VMAs back in 2022, but they didn't start dating until a year later. They announced their engagement in January with Dove showing off her engagement ring on Instagram and writing: "My favourite part of being alive ... happy new year."
Dove previously opened up about her first meeting with Damiano admitting she thought he didn't like her and only later realised he was "in a really bad place" at the time.
During an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, she explained: "I was like, ‘This guy f****** hates me.’ I was gonna go on with my night. I met a bunch of people. Everybody's like, ‘Congrats.’ I didn't think about it.
"Later I learned he was just, like, in a really bad place. It had nothing to do with me. But I took it personally, and I was like, 'F****** weird. Alright, bye.'"
Despite this, Dove and Damiano eventually started dating after meeting again at the 2023 VMAs.
She said: "We had a reason to talk. He was single, and I was single, and he was in a better place and I was in a better place.
"I was like, 'Yeah, I remember you. Like, you're so different now.' He was so friendly. And then he was like, 'Do you wanna come to our show at Madison Square Garden?' And I was like, 'Yeah.' And then we just started dating, and now we're engaged. Like, it's so, so innocent and simple."
Dove confessed she was "celibate" and "depressed" before they started dating.
She added: "If I had met him before I did in a way where he was interested in me and there was an opportunity for us to be dating, I would not have been ready because I was so depressed. I was, like, celibate.
"I was like, ‘Don't touch me, don't look at me, don't come close to me, I'm not leaving my house.’ I was like dark night of the soul for a year."
However, Dove's attitude changed ahead of the 2023 VMAs. She said: "I literally texted my friends and I was like, ‘I think I'm ready to date.’ One week later, he was like, ‘Nice to meet you.'"
